Midwest Meet

19 05 2009

Visit the official Midwest Meet thread on the SBOL Forum here to discuss the event. Costs for riding / lodging, carpools, and everything else you’d need to know can be found here!

The first ever Midwest Meet will be held at Mount Bohemia, MI (in the Upper Peninsula).
Click here to visit Mount Bohemia’s website
.

“Mount Bohemia has the longest runs with the highest vertical and deepest powder in the Midwest. Bohemia is all-natural, and has no problem without snow guns. The average snowfall in the Keweenaw is 273 inches. The lake effect snow is dry similar to western resorts and accumulates as powder which is untouched because we do not groom. Bohemia’s two new sections; the Outer limits has 100+ acres of inbounds backcountry skiing with 17 new runs even longer and trickier than before.”

Jay Jam Getting Closer

1 02 2009

Mark was scoping out the scene yesterday and although there is no park set up (so there will be no rail jam), there is promise of deep pow and good people.  Set your bindings back and start getting ready.

If you can’t make it out and need some motivation to go shred your local mountain make sure you check out the Revel8 Team shredding Mt. Snow after the Dew Tour. The video can be found here and if you haven’t seen this yet, you’ve been slacking.

Enurshia Jay Jam

24 11 2008

Enurshia Jay Jam | Feb 7-8, 2009 | Jay Peak, Vermont

“This will be the third Enurshia Jay Jam and it looks like it will be the biggest one yet.

All level of riders welcome! There are plenty of groomed trails and “beginner” woods available but keep in mind that a good portion of time will likely be spent in the woods. Please consider this before deciding to come. We want everyone to have a good time and if you know you will not be comfortable in the woods, you will likely not have a good time in the woods. It can be very dangerous and we do not encourage anyone to ride beyond their abilities. Safety first. Then teamwork.

If you intend to come, please respond to this post and we will contact you with some questions. We look forward to meeting everyone!”

If you plan to come make sure you check out THIS thread right away.

Free Stuff You Don’t Want to Miss

16 10 2008

Getting tired of refreshing the forum waiting of new posts as you count down the minutes until school/work is over? We want to give you something to do. For a limited time you can download Warship’s album Supply and Depend from MetalSucks.net. If you haven’t heard of Warship yet don’t feel bad, this band developed after the break up of From Autumn to Ashes and this is their first album release (you’re not so out of the loop after all). Former From Autumn to Ashes members Francis Mark (vocals, drums) and Rob Lauritsen (guitar, bass) team up to bring you this brand new sound on Vagrant Records. Click here to listen to a few tracks – if you like the way they sound, download the entire album free. Get it while you can. If you miss this download you’ll have to wait until it hits stores on election day – November 4th. You can also check out a few tracks on the band’s Myspace page.
